SMAN 2 MEULABOH is a state senior high school which is located in Aceh Province, West Aceh District, with an address in Sisingamangaraja’s street, Lapang village. It placed beside SMKN 2 MEULABOH (vocational school). And In front of SMAN 2 MEULABOH, there are so many photo copy stores and food shops. In the behind, there is a Junior High School BIna Generasi Bangsa or BGB (Extraordinary school). SMAN 2 MEULABOH has been established for 35 years since it is officially in September 1^st, 1980. It, now, headed by Drs. Marwanto.

I would like to describe how SMAN 2 MEULABOH looks like based on my experience when I studied there. In the first time we enter the school, we will find a security post near the car park, next to the first gate. We also can see the green yard with flowers, and include several statues of the deer. Then, if we want to get into, there also the second gate that we must pass. It is in circuits with the teacher posted guard stand or teacher’s parking area. After entering the second gate, the first building that we will see is the teacher office near the student’s parking area. And if you go through, you will find the counseling office before the classes. We can also find the main canteen and several offices, such as the principal’s office in the left which placed between the administration office and the teacher toilet. There are also the academic office, warehouse, and student affairs office placed in contiguous position. In the left, there is also a computer lab near the library. Other buildings that SMAN 2 MEULABOH has are 2 science laboratories, OSIS office, a multiple purpose room, a mosque, 9 toilets and one canteen near the back yard.  SMAN 2 MEULABOH has 19 class rooms. It divided into 3 group, 7 classes for the first grade, 6 classes for the second grade (4 sciences, 2 social studies), and 6 for the third grade (4 sciences, 2 social studies). There were 2 multi functions fields, the first one is between the offices and the laboratories, it is usually use to held flag ceremony every Monday and the second one is in the back yard, near the canteen that usually used by the boys to play football and basket.

The students of SMAN 2 MEULABOH generally come from all regions in West Aceh. It’s mean; there were several kinds of communities. Moreover, there are not only Muslims, who studied in SMAN 2 MEULABOH, but also the chines. People knew SMAN 2 MEULABOH as the school which many of the Chines studied there. But there is no region lesson for the Chines; it’s for the Muslims only. The teaching-learning activities in SMAN 2 MEULABOH start from 7.30 a.m. until 13.45 p.m. The break time is on 10.45 a.m. until 11.15 a.m. Especially in Friday; the class will be end on 11.45 a.m. and the girls will do an extracurricular activity called Rohis, to discuss about region issues. There were schedules for each class every week that they must attend.

Now, I will tell my activities during my day in SMAN 2 MEULABOH. I, usually in the morning after came to the class, putted my bag down, I would waited for the teacher with my classmate by discussing and reviewing the subject. When the teacher came to the class, we reviewed the last subject and continued to the next material. After we got the explanation about what material that would be discussed, we did some task by discussed it with partner or sometime, we did it by our self. Then, we submitted it before the class ended. The teacher also asked us if there was a question. If we had one, the teacher will explain it with detail or if the time was up, we asked to go to the teacher office to discuss it. Sometimes, we learn by practice the subject such as in the Chemistry class, Biology class, Physic class, Art class, Information Technology class, or Sport class. In the break time, I with my friends went to the canteen to buy some foods. Sometimes, students allowed going out of the school. The teacher in the posted guard stand would watch the time and called us when the bell rang. If we late to get back, the gate would locked by the teacher. I and my friends often to get out, we just bought food in the canteen and then, sited in front of the class under the tree. Waiting for the next class. Or sometimes, we sited near the computer laboratory, used the internet connection and made our tasks. Some of my boy friends went to the field and practice the football there. Because I was one of the OSIS members at that time, we also used the breaks time for meeting. So, there were several things that I can do in the breaks time. After the class ended, we do picket to clean our class before went home. If we had an extracurricular tutorial lesson, it would start at 14.30 p.m. to 16.30 p.m.

1.      Fostering director and personality in accordance with the norms of religion in order to realize human being faithful and pious.

2.      Improve school performance in organizing and providing service to the learners.

3.      Improve the quality of teaching-learning process and the concentration of teaching-learning in order to enter the achievement to UMPTN.

4.      Carry out the teaching-learning process with responsibility and high spirits

5.      Cultivate interest, talent, in the field of extracurricular, discussion, debates, scientific papers of teenagers, and the subject Olympic.

6.      Develop an attitude of discipline in the case of the school community.

7.      Maintaining and develop the talent, sporting achievement.

8.      Increase appreciation of culture and the arts
